Outcome 1: ‘Writing Processes & Adaptation’

For this course outcome, I decided to reflect on two artifacts that effectively influenced my writing process and learning how to adapt my previous writing skills to fit certain requirements.

This outcome is represented by a gear because a gear is the first part of a car and it is the reason it works, just like the process of writing is the first step into writing and it ensures that the writing reaches its objectives.

My first artifact is the major assignment 1. This was the initial major assignment of the course and thus, it was my first time working on a big paper for this class. I have selected this assignment for this course outcome because it was my initial experience in developing an outline and claim while writing the paper. I was not very familiar with the concept of an outline and now I can see the benefit of it. It helps to break the process down into more manageable parts and as a result it results in a better end product. In addition, this assignment has a direct relationship with major assignment 3.

My second artifact is the revise part from Major Assignment 3. I selected this particular part of the assignment because the assignment was to rewrite one of the previous major assignments in different genres. I converted my major assignment 1 into a web-comic. This artifact shows my adaptation of a text into a different genre. From this assignment I learned how to adapt a text-based writing into a more image-based genre. For this assignment the process was different since I was basing it from another task, however the outline from Major Assignment 1 helped a lot into creating a web-comic.
